The physical distance between Cornish houses can stretch for miles, and public transport between them is often infrequent and overpriced. In many parts of Cornwall, internet access is still slow — and in some places unobtainable.
Young people from different Cornish communities were interviewed about their experiences of isolation. These interviews were woven into a shared story, with embedded field recordings to create a more immersive experience.
Created by British composer and sound designer Chris Baker, Hidden in the Hills is a sonic painting: creative and inventive, but also highly relevant to modern Britain.

WAV4KST is a project that turns real live weather data from across Cornwall into music in a web browser.
A lot of sonification projects exist, but this one is (hopefully) a bit unusual in that it uses server-side PHP. That means it can run on any Apache server with PHP enabled — no third-party engines like SuperCollider/Max required.
